Upon arrival at the Colombo International Airport, you will meet our representative and then proceed Colombo, Rest of the day leisure at the hotel.

Day 02 NEGAMBO FISH MARKET / PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE / HABARANA

Visit to the Negambo Fish Market.
Located within a fairly close range to Bandaranaike International Airport, Negombo – the cinnamon hub of the Colonization of Dutch – offers some of the most exiting diving stretches in the country. With quite a pleasant beach and lagoon watch how Negombo dishes out some of the best lobsters, prawns and crabs found in the country, right on to your table or simply grab your kiteboards for an enthralling fly over crashing waves. Today Negombo also represents an ultimate nightlife featuring bars, disco bars and clubs. So, jazz up to the rhythm of the West, and be ready for a night of ‘fest’, because at Negombo everything is ‘best’.

Visit to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of
seeing their grandchildren born in the same location. The original objective of establishing the orphanage inclined more towards tourism,
but is soon became a conservation and educational center. With the help of local and foreign elephant experts, Pinnawela started a scientific captive-breeding programme for elephants. The free movement of the herd enhanced the chances for respective individuals of both sexes to get together and mate. The nearby river played a dominant role in this regard, and in 1984, the first baby of Pinnawela was born.

Day 03 HABARANA / SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS / HIRIWADUNNA VILLAGE TREK / MINNERIYA JEEP SAFARI / HABARANA

Morning Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
Sigiriya, which is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The ‘Lion Rock’ is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster. Wander into the well-fabricated museum downstairs for an epic journey of yesteryears to realize how the citadel floated above citizens with the castle, ponds and irrigation systems that pumped water right onto its summit with an ingenious hydraulic system describing a colossal masterpiece of the great king which remained a wonder in Asia for centuries.

Transfer from Hiriwadunna to Minneriya.
Proceed for a Jeep Safari at Minneriya National Park. If you’re up for a serious rumble in the jungle, then Minneriya is your Colosseum! Spreading over 8800 hectares, this is a sanctuary for elephants. Minneriya is home to herds of deer and ample birdlife, but its spotlight remains between swaying trunks & flapping ears. Park your jeep on the bank of the reservoir and switch off its engine. Watch carefully as herds of elephants – one by one – roll on to the grass-covered banks, to feed on tender shoots. In fact, this is the largest elephant gathering in the world – over 300 at a time – which has garnished the park to become a magnet for wildlife enthusiasts across the globe.

Day 04: HABARANA / MATALE SPICE GARDEN / KANDY TEMPLE, KANDY CITY & CULTURAL SHOW

Visit to a Spice Garden in Matale
Matale is situated in the central province in close proximity to Kandy. This area is very famous for its spices which are considered to be the best on the island. Gardens are open to visitors and its atmosphere is superb to stroll in fragrant greenery and learn more about the spices. The spice gardens attract tourists as well as locals who visit this area. These spices are used for culinary, cosmetic and indigenous medicinal purposes. Entrances to these gardens are free and children could learn to about the origin of spices and identify each spice by its individual fragrance. Transfer from Matale to Kandy.
Visit to Kandy Temple, Kandy City & Witness a Cultural Show.
Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site. The name “Kandy” conjures visions of splendour and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Ranasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Also visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy, and in the evening, you can witness a cultural show.

Day 05 KANDY / GAMPOLA / WHITE WATER RAFTING, KITULGALA/ WITNESS THE ST. CLAIRS WATER FALL / NUWARA ELIYA.

Transfer from Kandy to Gampola to Kitulgala.
Proceed for White Water Rafting – Kitulgala.
The famous location for filming the award-winning movie ‘Bridge on the River Kwai’ by David Lean is the beautiful Kitulgala village in the Sabaragamuwa Province. The picturesque location of the movie is open to all visitors to feast their eyes. Kitulagala is surrounded by forested hills that make way to the Kelani Ganga (river). A stretch of the river is the haven for those who love white water rafting. The 5 kilometers upstream is suitable for experienced white water rafting adventurers and the downstream suitable for beginners. Kitulgala is also a famous spot for jungle trekking, outdoor camping and bird watching.

Day 06 NUWARA ELIYA / HORTON PLAINS TREK / NUWARA ELIYA
Early morning takes a picnic breakfast from the hotel & transfer from Nuwara Eliya to Horton Plains.
Carryout a Trek to Horton Plains
Horton Plains, UNESCO World Heritage Site, trekking paradise & Eco-tourism hideout in the heart of the isle, painted with unending stretches of green pastures marks one of the healthiest wet montane evergreen forests in Sri Lanka. With an altitude above 7000ft, the plateau sweeps to a robust 3169 hectares sheltering flora and fauna varieties that may be found nowhere else on earth. As the tributary of Belihul Oya – Bakers Falls – thunders down rocks head along the 9km trekking path – across frost-covered grass – to feel the icy-cold wind against your face. You may even gaze down World’s End, a head-spinning 3700ft drop towards the Southern end or drive carefully through herds of sambar deer, shy to human touch & birdlife chirping across the plains. If you’re cautious enough you may be greeted by the sights of a grunting wild boar, a pouncing fishing cat, otters or even the ‘Spotted-Ghost that haunts the plains’, the Sri Lankan Leopard!
Transfer from Horton Plains Nuwara Eliya.
Visit to Nuwara Eliya City Nuwara Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lankas most popular hill resort. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lankas tea country producing a significant share of the world’s best tea. Sri Lanka s highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 feet) is located here. Nuwara Eliya also has one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in South Asia.

Day 07 NUWARA ELIYA / TRAIN RIDE IN THE HILL COUNTRY / ELLA

Day 09 THIISMAHARAMA / YALA JEEP SAFARI / THISSAMAHARAMA

Day 10 THISSAMAHARAMA / GALLE CITY / HIKKADUWA

Galle, the epic Southern capital, is the intersection where classic Dutch architecture meets a tropical setting creating a vivid atmosphere in beauty. Walk the Dutch-haunted streets listening to the creaks of wooden saloon doors and observe how European architecture mingles with South Asian traditions today flooding cultural enthusiasts on a global scale. Its original ramparts and bastions preserved up to date showcase evidences of a heritage preserved for more than 3 1/2 centuries. Walk clockwise within the fort to observe the ‘old gate’ carrying the British coat of arms. Flanking the old gate is the Zwart bastion – the oldest of all – and the lighthouse standing 18 feet in its glory next to the Point Utretcht Bastion. This Dutch bliss is painted with streets that spread in a rectangular grid pattern pierced with houses carrying Dutch colonial style verandas. Hop into the Dutch Hospital Shopping Complex to be mesmerized by an array of souvenir selections. However, its hallmark stands a reality where the Dutch fort remains a working community with its usual buzz of administrative offices, court complex, commercial buildings, churches and Southern folks frequenting its streets bracing the air of the Elysium of architecture, Galle!

Day 11: HIKKADUWA / AMBALANGODA VISIT / KOSGODA TURTLE HATCHERY / BALAPITIYA BOAT RIDE / HIKKADUWA

Visit to Ambalangoda Mask.
Ambalangoada is a coastal town in the southern province belonging to the Galle District popular for masks and antiques. Masks are part of Sri Lankan culture and used in traditional dances like ‘kolam’ and ‘sanni’, dramas, pageants and processions. Masks are also used in ceremonies held to exorcise demons and cure illnesses. At the mask museum in Ambalangoda different types of colorful hand carved masks can be seen with intricate designs in vibrant shades depicting ancient traditions. The traditional masks are made from kaduru, light pliable wood. Afte carving, the masks are sanded with rough leaves or shark skin.
Transfer from Ambalangoda to Kosgoda.
Visit to a Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda.
The Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery was established in 1981 by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka to protect its turtles from extinction. It is located in close proximity to tourist areas in Galle and surroundings. The Hatchery collects eggs and hatch them safely away from sea and land predators. Some people collect turtle eggs for consumption in this part of the beach and establishment of the Hatchery has put an end to this. Thousands of turtles are released to the sea every year with the hope of increasing these endangered species.
Transfer from Kosgoda to Balaaditya.
Proceed for a Boat Ride at Madu River.
A perfect creation of nature surrounded by greenery and undisturbed natural habitat, 80km south from the city of Colombo in Balapitiya is the Madu River. The Madu Ganga as it is locally known is a lagoon with 64 small islands which holds ancient monasteries and ruins surrounded by pristine mangrove. A boat ride is a must in Madu River to experience the beauty of nature and to see the wild animals and birds in their natural habitat. The boat ride will take you through mangrove tunnels to explore the wetland and help you experience the magic of nature.

Day 12 HIKKADUWA / COLOMBO CITY & SHOPPING / AIRPORT

Colombo, like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet in some parts, the old-world charm is retained. For example, there is a 100-year-old clock tower and several British built colonial buildings. Other places of interest are a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH)- an outright gift to Sri Lanka from the People’s Republic of China & the old parliament.
